Biography
Since 1994, Susan has helped individuals and businesses with their needs in the areas of employment law, business transaction and corporate law, wills trusts and estate planning.
Susan finds it rewarding to advise business owners on employment law matters. Her experience practicing employment and general corporate business law includes 5 years with the Law Offices of Dougherty and Hildre where she successfully defended a case before the California Supreme Court. Susan served over 3 years as corporate counsel for Yes Television, Inc. and 9 years as a sole-practitioner.
Susan graduated from the University of Northern Colorado as a Departmental Scholar in Economics and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in both California and Washington state. She is currently pursuing her Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR) certificate through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
A San Diego resident since the 1970s, Susan, her husband and three children live in Cardiff-By-The-Sea, California. Her community involvement includes membership in the Encinitas and Carlsbad Chambers of Commerce, Pro bono work with the Sudanese Lost Boys and volunteering at Cardiff Elementary and Ada Harris Schools, where her children area students. In her leisure time, Susan enjoys photography, art, beading and travel. She has traveled to Europe, Asia and South America and Africa. In 2005, she traveled to South Africa with “Dream for Africa” to plant gardens for the poor residents of Mapumalunga.
